Contentment

I have been overwhelmed lately.  Overloaded, tapped out, depleated.  Weeks ago I signed up to go to a woman's retreat for Friday night.  I actually didn't feel like going when the time came because it was just one more thing.  But, amazingly I was able to relax and find some refreshing.  I had been thinking of a song since last Sunday and that very song was a theme of our weekend.  Here are the words:
The More I Seek You
by Kari Jobe

The more I seek you
the more I find you
The more I find you
the more I love you

I wanna sit at your feet
drink from the cup in your hands
Lay back against you and breathe
feel your heart beat
This love is so deep
it's more than I can stand
I melt in your peace
it's overwhelming

It can be hard to set aside things that distract us and threaten to consume all our thoughts and concentration.  But when I did this, I was able to focus on God, to really seek Him and I found that's just where I want to be.  I was able to be overwhelmed by His peace and I wanted to stay in that place.  My goal now is to seek and find this each day.

Take the time to watch this video and meditate for yourself.

One of the subjects we pondered this weekend was being content in all circumstances.  We may still pray that circumstances change, but we need to learn to be content wherever God has placed us.  That is how I feel once I am overwhelmed by God's peace.
